Getting started & pricing

Most tools stop once your trades are recorded. ChartLooper starts there. On top of backtesting and live journaling sits a full process for building and improving strategies: connect your trades to a Strategy, research which Trading Concepts actually work, and save the better version as a new Strategy. You can even test new concepts without placing new trades. Then you do it again. Test, trade, research, improve, loop by loop.
Yes. Sign up without a credit card and start backtesting on the Free plan. You can even try the backtesting demo without registering.
Yes. Cancel in your subscription settings and your paid plan stays active until the end of the current billing period. Afterwards your account moves to the Free plan.

Backtesting

Because you get through a backtest much faster. Every feature you'd expect is there, from multi-timeframe charts, rewinds and session jumps to Partial Exits and hotkeys, with fewer clicks, fewer drags, no lag and high-quality data. And you can trade several strategy variations in one backtest: analyze once, execute different ideas against the same price action, and compare the results side by side. Still not sure? Try the demo without signing up and get a feel for it.
Switch between variations or entry and exit variations inside one Session with Sync active. Analyze the market once, then execute different ideas against the same price action. Because everything shares one replay context, comparisons are cleaner and more reliable, and you can visualize results side by side afterward.
ChartLooper includes auto replay, forward and backward stepping, rewinding, and jumps to the next trading session. More importantly, the interface reduces mouse movement and clicks while you enter, adjust, and manage trades. Customizable hotkeys make the workflow fit how you backtest.
Yes. Use Sync across up to four charts so higher-timeframe context and lower-timeframe execution stay aligned. Clicking a chart can adjust stepping to that chart's timeframe. Multi-charting starts with 2 charts on Essential and up to 4 on Pro.
Yes. Add several take-profit Exit Levels to one trade and give each an Exit Allocation, the share of the position it closes. Each Partial Exit realizes its own profit or loss, and the trade is complete once the whole position is closed.
Yes. Risk-based mode sizes the position from the risk and stop loss you choose, as a percentage or a fixed dollar amount. Direct mode places one-click Buy or Sell market orders with a quantity you enter, such as contracts, shares or lots. You can switch modes at any time during a session.
ChartLooper keeps your process structured while you replay. Checklists, tags, notes, trade history, and controlled replay navigation help you record what you saw at the time instead of reconstructing a trade after you know the outcome.
Yes. Trades are saved with their context, Tags, notes, and results. Review individual Trades on a chart and compare performance across Sessions, variations, Tags, Direction, and other dimensions.

Live journal & broker sync

Because your journal doesn't just record your trades, it helps improve your strategy. Everything you'd expect is there, from broker sync and CSV import to a P/L calendar, daily plans, checklists and detailed analytics. On top of that, each account feeds a Strategy, so your live trades sit next to your backtests and go straight into Research.
NinjaTrader, Tradovate and cTrader. Once an account is connected, ChartLooper imports its completed trades automatically and keeps them up to date while synchronization is on. MetaTrader is coming soon, and we add new brokers regularly.
Yes. Download the CSV template, fill it with your trades and import the file, or add trades manually. Imported and manual trades use the same calendar, notes, analytics and Strategies as synced ones.
Yes. Each day in the Live Journal calendar has its own notes and checklists, so you can write your plan before the session and your review after it. Every trade keeps its own notes, Tags and attachments.

Strategies

A Strategy is the home for one trading approach. Set it up once, connect your backtesting sessions and journal accounts, and every new trade lands in it automatically. You see whether your backtest edge holds up live, and how the Strategy compares with your others. It is also where improvement starts: Research finds a better version, you save it as a new Strategy, then improve that one too. Loop by loop, your strategy gets better.
Yes. Connect backtest Variations and journal accounts to the same Strategy, then compare it by Sources. Backtest and live results appear side by side for the same approach, so you see whether your live trading matches what you tested.
Assign the new Strategy from a chosen date. Journal Strategy Periods give each account a dated history of Strategies: a trade belongs to the period in which it was entered, and trades from before the switch stay with the earlier Strategy.
No. Trades without a Strategy stay fully usable in Backtesting and the Live Journal. Connect sessions or accounts to a Strategy when you want to see one approach's results across all its sources.

Research

Research shows which of your Trading Concepts actually carry your edge, without waiting weeks for new trades. Pick a concept you check at the entry, such as "Pullback into a fair value gap", and test it on the backtests and live trades you already have. You rate each trade before you see how it ended, so hindsight can't skew the result. It works for new ideas and for the concepts you already trade, showing whether, and how much, each one contributes. Then save the better version as a new Strategy and research that one too. Every loop makes your trading a little better.
So the result cannot colour your judgement. During an Outcome-blind Assessment the chart shows only what was known at the Initial Entry. Later fills, price action, the exit and the P/L stay hidden until you submit your rating, so you judge the setup itself rather than how the trade turned out.
How well a trade's entry matches a Trading Concept: Barely matches, Clearly matches or Textbook match. You can also mark a concept as Not present. Research then shows whether better matches actually perform better, and whether trading only Textbook matches pays off or costs you more in missed trades than it gains.
Yes. A Trading Concept Combination lists concepts that must match and concepts that must not match, each with a minimum Match Quality. You see how the trades that meet every condition perform compared with the rest.
A refined version of a Strategy, saved from a Research result. It keeps the Trading Concepts you chose as its conditions, and every future trade of its Parent Strategy that meets them joins it automatically, so the refined version keeps collecting evidence. You can research a Strategy Variation again and save a variation of it, so every loop builds on the last.

Data & instruments

ChartLooper currently supports Forex, Futures, and major Stocks.
Historical market data comes from one of the largest and most reliable data providers. ChartLooper stores OHLCV bars across every timeframe, from 1 minute to monthly, so any resolution is ready to use.

Account & privacy

ChartLooper connects to your broker to import your completed trades into your journal. Broker OAuth tokens are stored encrypted so synchronization can continue. For cTrader, ChartLooper never receives your password and the integration cannot place, modify or close orders. Removing an account stops syncing and deletes its saved broker connection.
No. ChartLooper does not sell your personal information. Service providers are used only to run ChartLooper, such as Stripe for payments; ChartLooper never stores your full card number.
Yes. When you remove a journal account, you choose whether to keep its trades or delete them permanently together with their notes, attachments and assessments. To have your whole account and personal data deleted, contact [email protected].
